Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa (Wellmark BCBSIA)

Do you live and work in Iowa? Are you searching for an individual health insurance plan for yourself or for yourself and your family? As of 2009, over 1.7 million Iowa residents are insured with Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield so you have come to the right place. The company focuses on improving the health of its members and their communities through customer satisfaction.

Americans want to make sure they are protected from the spiraling costs of healthcare and the effects of an unexpected illness or injury. Many people who look for the individual type of health insurance are doing so for the first time or as a result of changes in their life, such as, graduation, early retirement, divorce, or marriage. Some people are looking for added benefits, over and above their present plan, while some are looking because they are self-employed and want the stability that health insurance brings. In either case, Wellmark Blue Cross recognizes your individual reasons for needing health insurance – and they will work to ensure the plan you choose is a good fit.

An extension of the Essential Plan. With this policy, you are offered a choice of three deductibles priced at $600, $1200, and $1800. In addition, the Enhanced Plans provide a wider variety of covered services such as routine physicals and well-child care up to age seven.

Alliance Select Comprehensive Plans

The Wellmark top-of-the-line PPO plans. You are given a choice of four deductibles to choose from. This plan also includes additionally covered services such as maternity, chiropractic, mental health, and chemical dependency care.
