Kaiser Permanente of Ohio
Kaiser Permanente of Ohio is an integrated, pre-paid health delivery system that offers individual, family and Medicare Plus† services to the residents of Northern Ohio. As one of the regional subsidiaries of Kaiser Permanente, it is a part of the largest non-profit HMO in the US. The entire range of care for their members is provided and coordinated through the Kaiser system, including doctors and hospitals. Since preventive care is pre-paid, care is available when enrolled and you have selected a primary care physician.
While the Kaiser Permanente hospitals are non-profit, their doctors belong to for-profit groups. The Kaiser group is extremely selective about the doctors hired to be in the network. The group is also in the forefront in research, especially concerning immunizations and genetics.
