Highmark BC/BS of PA Individual Health Plans

Complete Care

A comprehensive plan providing major medical benefits. You choose the deductible level that you can afford and can seek care from a healthcare provider of your choice. After paying your annual deductible, when you see providers associated with BCBS, you save by having full benefits and no claim forms to fill out. The plan includes prescription drug coverage and can be tailored to your needs.

ClassicBlue Traditional

Provides health insurance from your choice of health services providers. The plan comes with choices for deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments. That way you can tailor the plan to your criteria. After paying the annual deductible and applicable coinsurance/co-payments, your benefits cover your eligible fees when seeking care with Blue Cross Blue Shield providers and you have no claim forms to fill out.

DirectBlue

Offers its Preferred-Provider plan to residents of 29 western PA counties and uses the network health providers of the Keystone Health Plan West. You are free to seek care from any health care provider you choose, without a referral. However, you are rewarded with the highest level of benefits when you seek care from within the Keystone network of physicians. Plans include preventive, wellness, and prescription coverage.

PreferredBlue

A Preferred-Provider plan using the extensive Keystone Health Plan West network of health care providers. You are free to see any health provider of your choice within or outside of this plan without referrals, although you will have maximum benefits within the Keystone network. Coverage includes prescription, wellness, and preventive services in this plan.

PPOBlue High-Deductible Program

This program and the BlueAccount HSA/Health Savings Account work together. Here, the PPOBlue plan has a lower annual premium, due to its high deductible level. You have the excellent benefits of the PPO Keystone Health Plan West network of providers, with its outstanding service. You are also able to open a tax advantaged Health Savings Account which you can use to pay your annual deductible and other allowable medical expenses. Due to the nature of the HSA, it provides choices related to health costs and several ways to save on your taxes.

KeystoneBlue

Provides an HMO/Health Maintenance Organization with the Keystone Health Plan West network of providers. Here, you choose a Primary Care Physician who will coordinate your routine health care. You can also go to any specialist in the Keystone network without referral. There is a choice of deductibles, so you can easily find one that fits your budget.

MedigapBlue

Offered to those enrolled with Medicare Plans A & B and provides coverage on those costs which Medicare does not pay. You have a choice from six Highmark Medicare supplemental plans, so you can choose the one which best suits your needs.

SecurityBlue is a Medicare Advantage HMO

Managed by Highmark through Keystone Health Plan West, Inc. in 17 counties of western Pennsylvania. In this plan, you choose a primary care physician who coordinates your health care and you also have the benefits of Medicare. You may need referral to other SecurityBlue health professionals. There will be little out-of-pocket expenses and the coverage options can be selected for your particular needs.

FreedomBlue

Provides the PPO/Preferred Provider Organization network of Highmark BCBS for Medicare advantaged individuals. It is available in 17 counties in western Pennsylvania. Here, you have the choice to seek care from any medical provider without referral, although services with PPO providers come with higher benefits. Prescription drugs, preventive care, dental services, and routine vision/hearing services are all covered in this plan.

Low Income Plans

Administered by Highmark BCBS of Pennsylvania include Special Care, ClassicBlue Traditional HIPAA, ClassicBlue Traditional HCTC, CHIP, and adultBasic.
