The plans of Group Health Incorporated and GHI
HMO are extensive and some are available in regional areas
of New York only.
GHI and GHI HMO Individual Health Plans
Alliance Value Plan
A PPO
network plan, open to all NY residents. It provides basic
hospital, medical, and prescription drug coverage. You may
seek care from any in-network health care provider or out-of-network
provider of your choice without a referral.
Alliance 365 Day Hospital Plan
Open to all NY residents and offers both inpatient and
outpatient hospital services, mostly without deductible or
coinsurance. Coverage includes in-network hospitals and most
out-of-network hospital services.
Medicare Choice PPO
Offered
to residents of the Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, Richmond,
Rockland, and Westchester. It provides access to the Choice
PPO network in NYC, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, and Rockland
counties. You will have open enrollment to NYC, Westchester,
and Rockland county Medicare services. The plan includes out-of-network
coverage and does not require referrals.
Medicare Supplement Insurance
Available to all residents of NY. The supplemental plans
are intended to help pay expenses for services not covered
by Medicare. There are four plans to choose from.
Direct Pay GHI HMO
Provides
complete medical and hospital services through the GHI HMO
network of health providers to residents of 29 counties in
NY. The services of this plan include a wide range of services,
including prescription drugs, wellness and preventive care.
There are several options available.
Direct Pay POS
Offers complete
medical and hospital services through the GHI HMO network
of providers to the same 29 counties as above. The services
of the plan are similar to above, but also provide access
to out-of-network specialists.
Low Income Plans
Include Healthy
New York, Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid
Managed.
GHI acquired GHI HMO as a subsidiary in 1999.
