BCBS of MO Individual Health Plans

Blue AccessSM Value/Choice Value, Blue AccessSM Economy/Choice Economy

Provides a PPO/Preferred Provider Organization network of health care providers from whom you can choose in order to save money. This plan also allows you to go out-of-network, but at more out-of-pocket cost. There are many extras in this plan, like wellness programs, prescription drug benefits, discounts on other types of services, and it also allows for Special KiddieCare coverage for children under 19.

Blue Choice Individual Plan

Offers an HMO/Health Maintenance Organization program where you select a primary care physician (PCP) who will manage your health care. You have access to over 6500 physicians in the BCBSMO network and pay no deductible, just a copayment at each service. Wellness programs and preventive care are emphasized.

RateSaver Plan

Works with the Alliance or AllianceChoice PPO for to help bring you out-of-pocket savings, but you are still free to use any other health care provider. The lower rates mean higher deductibles for those who do not need total health plan benefits. The plan offers prescription drug coverage and discounts for related health services with selected providers.

Alliance™ Choice

For metro St. Louis residents who want to save with network providers but still retain the freedom to see any doctor of their choice. The plan includes prescription drug benefits, wellness programs, preventive care, discounted additional health services, and low co-payments at doctor visits.

Hospital/Surgical Plan

Provides coverage for network inpatient and surgical fees associated with accidents and illnesses. The lower annual premium protects policyholders from major problems, but routine procedures and office visits are not covered.

HSA-Compatible Medical Plan

Delivers high-deductible PPO health coverage, coupled with a Health Savings Account which allows you to pay for deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments with its tax-advantaged funds. The high deductible provides a low yearly cost to the policyholder, so the savings come in two ways.

HSA-Compatible Hospital/Surgical Plan

A high deductible PPO network provider plan which covers the possible need for inpatient and surgical care associated with a major accident or illness. It is coupled with a Health Savings Account which allows you to pay for covered expenses from its tax exempt funds. The lower annual premium and tax exempt savings allow the policyholder to save in two ways.

Short-Term Medical Plan

Offered for those individuals who need insurance for only a short time. You have choice in levels of coverage based on deductibles, coinsurance, and length of coverage from 30 to 180 days (up to 360).

Blue Horizons™

Provides for deductibles and coinsurance not included in Medicare with a choice of eight Medicare Supplemental plans. Some services, such as prescriptions, vision, and hearing, are discounted.

Blue Horizons™ Smart Value™

A private Fee-For-Service Plan for Medicare Supplement that is available in only some counties of Missouri. There are no deductibles and low co-payments for many covered services.

DentaBlue Individual

Covers a broad range of dental benefits, with no deductible to pay on preventive and diagnostic care. Use of the BCBSMO network of dentists provides extra savings, but you have freedom to seek care from any dental provider. The plan is offered for those up to age 65.

DentaBlue Senior

Intended for policyholders 65 and older. The benefits are the same as with DentaBlue Individual.
